Hello, I noticed your comments about Gail Carson Levine's books. I've read a few, tho not all, and noticed something you might want to keep in mind.

"The Princess Tales" series are a class unto themselves. When it comes to literary merit, they're as light and fluffy as bonbons. {pause} When I'm in the mood for literary bonbons, nothing suits me as well. {Smile}

Her other books are more substantial. {Smile}

I ended up getting the HC collection of the Princess Tales, as well as Fairest, Two Princesses of Bamarre, and Ever, though I haven't read them yet. I hope to in the next month or so.
Then I suggest reading the Princess Tales when you're particularly in a mood for Something Fluffy, and the others when you aren't.

The Two Princesses of Bamarre is a personal favorite of mine. I guess it was the right book at the right time. {SMILE}

I also noticed your comments on Tamora Pierce's books. Since you're more fond of some of the Winding Circle characters than others, I thought someone should clue you into which of the later books are about who. I did peek at the comments on those posts to make sure no one has. Since they haven't, I might as well.

Magic Steps is about Sandry and her first apprentice.

Street Magic is about Briar and his first apprentice.

Cold Fire is about Daja and her first apprentices.

Shatterglass is about Tris and her first first apprentice.

The Will of the Empress is about how the four get back together, and gradually get comfortable with each other again. Sandry has the main plot, and with it the spotlight. Briar and Daja have notable sub-plots. I don't remember Tris getting as much time as the rest, but I could have missed her parts in a rush to find out what happens to Sandry and Briar. {SMILE} I did think those two had the best stories in this book. {SMILE}
